Gumamela

Aside from their beauty, they are herbal medicine. In my search for the names of flowers I found out that gumamela does some wonders in the field of medicine.

Application of Gumamela:
Decoction is used to treat : Bronchitis, coughs, fever, dysentery, urinary and bladder infections, high blood pressure and constipation.

Poultice is applied externally on the afflicted area. This is used to treat headaches ( on the forehead), boils, swelling, abscesses and mumps.

Intake of gumamela alone or mixed with papaya or papaya seeds specially in large quantities can be abortifacient.

With its popularity, roses are the queen of flowers. Although there is a huge number of meanings and symbols associated with roses, the most common of course is love, which originated in Greek mythology. When Aphrodite cried about the death of her lover Adonis, she had red "Adonis Roses" grown with his blood, - thus red roses are the symbol of never-ending love. Important to mention are the roses' thorns, of which we all probably have some painful memory. Symbolically, love can be painful and full of suffering when not treated carefully.

A member of the Liliaceae family, lilies are so fragrant. This is one of my personal favorites. The smell of these flowers are enough to use as air freshener in the room. They usually last long like 7 days.

It's best to buy lilies when a few of their lower buds have slightly opened as they continue to bloom and show its wonders in few days.
